So I visited the King’s Sanctuary today. This is a prime spot for the students of the ‘University Town’ (UWI and UTECH) to attend Sunday church service. Pastor D. Thomas closed the service today by highlighting qualities of people who are concerned about the things of God. Let us assess what he says to determine if you and I can truly call ourselves Christians.
They have receptive hearts
They are not the type of persons who argue when they hear the word of God. They listen and seek to understand. These persons never have a ‘but’ to the scripture, they ponder for wisdom when they don’t necessarily understand.
These individuals seek the will of God for their lives and trust his direction.
It doesn’t mean that they will not have a sense of direction, it means that they continually ask him for his will and direction for their lives.
They are not distracted by the deceitfulness of wealth. Essentially their main desire is to go into the direction that God leads them, and their work ethic is not driven by money or material wealth.
We are encouraged to not lose our fellowship with Christ for anything. It is good to listen to godly council but we must seek the word of God for ourselves. Pastor Thomas encouraged us to make it a goal to read our bible in its entirety per year.
As we go forth this week let us take the time to assess ourselves to see whether we are really concerned with the things of God and to commit our lives to his will.
Do feel free to share what your minister spoke about this week. You never know who you are inspiring.
Have a blessed week. 😃😀
